Saying goodbye to your pet is devastating. The loss can affect us very deeply because our pets, especially today, have become part of the family dynamic. Losing them may feel like losing a piece of your heart.
Grief is very natural, and it is going to take time to process the loss of your beloved companion. There are people and resources available to help you through this difficult time.
When my beautiful BFG (Big Friendly Giant) Samson passed, we had him cremated and then buried his ashes in one of his favourite places, under a little tree he used to always pass on his walks. He would take a moment there to stand gracefully, watching over the land, and I believe that his spirit continues to do so.
My lovely Boop passed away peacefully in August 2025, he was a very special boy who came to me as a rescue. We buried Boop in our garden and planted a flower in his remembrance. I cherish all the precious moments we had together and I miss him and all of the lovely fluffy souls who have touched my heart over the years
However you choose to remember your pet, always hold onto the good memories, the funny stories, their silly faces, and of course, those paw prints that will remain in your heart forever.
