What to Expect

Step 1: Unrushed Discussion

Before we visit, we can have a gentle phone conversation about your pet. We can discuss your pet's quality of life and the peaceful euthanasia process and what to expect, and any questions or concerns you may have. We will schedule a time that works for your whole family.

There is no pressure - if you are unsure whether it is the right time, we are here to talk it through with you.

Step 2: We Come to You

At a suitable time, I will come visit your home. I will take the time to meet your pet in their own space, explain the gentle process step by step to you, and give you all the time you need to say your goodbyes. Your pet will be treated with the compassion they deserve.

Your pet can be wherever they feel most comfortable - on their favourite bed, in the garden, or cradled in your arms.

Step 3: Calming Sedation

When you are ready, I will administer a gentle sedation injection. Your pet will gradually fall into a peaceful, deep sleep. They will be completely pain-free and free from anxiety, all in the comfort and warmth of their home.

This sedation ensures that your pet experiences no fear or distress during their final moments.

Step 4: Peaceful Passing

Once your pet is sleeping peacefully, and when you feel ready, I will administer the final injection whilst your pet sleeps. Your pet will pass with no discomfort, surrounded by your love and warmth.

You can take as much time as you need to be with them. There is no rush. This is your time together.

Aftercare Options

After your pet has passed, you have several choices in regards to what happens next. I am here to support you through this, whatever option you decide upon.

  • Home Burial - Many people choose to bury their beloved pet at home but in order to do so you must abide by the local regulations in your area as the legalities of pet burial in Ireland are not very clear.
  • Individual Cremation - I can arrange dignified transportation to a trusted crematorium, where your pet will be individually cremated with care and respect.
  • Ashes Returned - If you choose individual cremation, your pet's ashes can be returned to you. I can deliver them to your home or arrange to meet you at a place that is convenient for you.

Throughout the entire process, your pet will be treated with the utmost care. I understand how precious they are to you.
